Weight Loss
There are many books and articles on this subject yet how many of us try and fail time and time again to reduce our body
fat in an effort to get that 'perfect' shape? Diets claiming to offer 'quick fixes' are often dangerous
(including very low calorie diets) which have the opposite effect in the long-term.
There are no magical, all encompassing formulas because we all have an
individual genetic make-up and we reacts differently
to different substances in different environments! The key is to
know what suits your body and
to use that information to your body's best advantage. Elements
of diets that could easily be dealt with include:
- dairy intolerance
- gluten intolerance
- over indulgence of sweets, crisps, cakes and pastries
- fizzy drinks, which rob you of bone building essentials
- alcohol consumption (not exceeding the recommended units)
- lack of essential vitamins and minerals in a balanced diet
- Eating the right kind of fats
Determination combined with regular exercise (using your personal programme) will make
weight loss a sustainable breeze.
Rapid weight loss is positively discouraged
(except for medical fasting) as you may
experience the loss of nutrients and lean muscle tissue which are
detrimental to good health.
